Stack Above Reactor Four

This is the main stack above reactor four, where the explosion occurred in 1986.

The reactor hall and original sarcophagus structure, being the epicenter of the disaster, were the most radioactive areas within the zone and I was only able to stay there for a short amount of time to limit my exposure.

I’m particularly happy with this shot because the stack no longer stands proud of the reactor hall anymore, owing to the New Safe Confinement structure which covers the majority of the old sarcophagus structure.
